USPS has been issuing postal stamps for decades. For something that’s been around that long, it makes sense to wonder if they have an expiration date.
So if your desk is cluttered with stamps, don’t worry! Find out when USPS stamps are due to expire.
Do USPS Stamps Expire In 2022?
USPS stamps don’t expire as long as they are still in great condition. Forever Stamps, which USPS has been issuing since 2007, are non-denominational and always reflect the current rate of first-class postage. A dollar-valued stamp does not expire. They must be combined and used with another stamp to display the current postage rate.
What can I do to find out if my USPS stamps are still good?
All you have to do is glance to determine if the stamps of USPS are still in good condition.

USPS considers Forever Stamps “non-denominated” postage. It means that the stamps do not have any monetary value on them.

You should also keep in mind that stamps of monetary worth may be printed with one year.

What about old USPS stamps?
You can, in most cases. Your old stamps can still be used as long as the USPS validates them as valid postage.

How Long Are USPS Forever Stamps Good For?
USPS Forever Stamps, as the name implies, are valid forever.
Forever Stamps have no fixed value. This is in contrast to stamps from the past, which were marked with a dollar value. They are instead valued according to USPS postage rates.
The current rate of first-class mailage will apply to your Forever Stamp purchase
If you don’t use the stamp for five years and the postage rate goes up (which it undoubtedly will), your Forever Stamp will reflect the current value of first-class postage.
To make it clearer, let’s take a look at an illustration. Forever Stamps came out in 2007, which was the year that first-class mail cost $0.41.
The current cost of the Forever Stamps was $0.58. Forever Stamps purchased between 2007-2020 have a value of $0.58 even though they cost less.
Are Global Forever(r), Stamps Expiring?
Just like domestic Forever Stamps, USPS’ Global Forever(r) stamps never expire.
Global Forever(r), is part of USPS First Class Mail International (r). This is the most inexpensive way to send letters or postcards to more 180 countries (including Canada, Great Britain and Australia).
With one Global Forever(r) stamp, you’re able to send 1oz letters or postcards pretty much anywhere in the world for one flat rate.
Even if your postage rises, your stamps will remain valid and available to send your mail.
Are USPS Shipping Labels Expired?
USPS shipping label have an expiration day, which is different from stamps. Technically speaking, USPS shipping labels “expire” 28 days after you purchase them.
Although day 28 is considered the cutoff, this rule doesn’t apply to all cases. In general, USPS will give you a 2 to 3 day grace period when using shipping labels.
Each Post Office has the right to exercise their discretion.
If you are not satisfied with labels from your Post Office, or if they refuse to be accepted by you, then you should contact the Postmaster.
Be patient if they won’t listen. USPS will not scan the labels you provide when you make your purchase.
It means tracking numbers will never be entered in their system. It is possible to ask for a refund through your online shipping program and get a replacement label.
