Creality Ender 3 V2 Review: The Perfect Entry-Level 3D Printer?

Creality Experts earns a commission on items purchased from this site. This is at no extra cost to you. You can find more information at our affiliate links policy. The Ender 3 V2 was purchased by us and this review is not sponsored in any way. This page contains our opinions based solely on our personal experiences with the printer.

Creality Ender 3 V2

Creality Ender 3 in improved form for 2020. 3D printing was revolutionized by the Ender 3 which quickly became an extremely popular printer. The active community of users soon started to modify the Ender 3 to improve its capabilities. Creality has incorporated many of these community suggestions to improve the Ender 3 V2 so that it is a premium version.

Creality Ender 3 V2 offers a competitive price and an 8x8x10 inch build volume. Its combination of features and price make it an ideal entry-level printer, assuming it delivers on its promises. It is worth asking the questions of whether you are able to get the Ender 3’s features and price improvements, or if the extra cost to upgrade to Ender 3V2 will be worthwhile.

Our conclusion is that we believe the Creality Ender 3 V2 3D Printer is well worth it. It is an affordable entry level printer. This review will give you a detailed overview of the printer’s capabilities as well as highlight all that we enjoy and dislike about it.

Printing with Ender 3 V2

The screen on the Ender 3 V2 is a major improvement over the previous version. However, the view angle is quite narrow.

This section is probably the most important. How does Creality Ender 3 V2 print? It’s an enjoyable and pleasant experience, we are happy to say.

After turning on the machine, we were immediately struck by its quietness. It does still have a power supply fan and a hot end cooling fan, so you’ll hear a constant fan noise from the printer. It’s that noise only. When moving or extruding, the motors of the printer make no additional noise. This is a significant improvement on the original Ender 3 printer and other older Creality printers. Ender 3 V2’s quiet operation makes it less distracting if you frequently spend time in your room. We would like all printers to operate in this manner.

A notable enhancement is also the Ender 3 V2’s user interface screen. In stark contrast to the text-based display of the original Ender 3, the V2 uses a full graphical LCD screen which presents the information in a more readable way and has a much more polished look and feel. Although a touchscreen LCD would have been great, Creality needed to keep costs down on other aspects of the V2’s machine. The UI is very intuitive and easy to use. There is one problem with this interface. The LCD has a limited viewing angle. Sometimes Creality will use a grey color to indicate the selected UI element. Sometimes it is difficult to identify which option you have if the LCD isn’t viewed directly.

It doesn’t take too long to calibrate your Ender 3V2 out of its box. While Creality’s more expensive machines can automatically level the printer bed, the Ender 3 V2 will require you to adjust the level manually. The bed-leveling knobs will have to be manually adjusted to reach the desired height. The process is simple and you can find a helpful bed-leveling guide at our site. The bed has never shifted from its level once it is level.

While the Ender 3 V2 has no automatic bed leveling feature, bed leveling with large knobs is simple.

As with other 3D printers you can also print models directly from your SD card. The second option allows you to connect to a computer or a raspberry Pi running OctoPrint, but we tested with the SD card and had no trouble loading and printing models.

Increase The Ender’s Potential With V2

The hot end fan housing is new on this model. The design is very attractive, and it has only one screw.

The upgrade options are discussed in detail when we review an Ender 3 printer. The Ender 3 V2 includes many popular upgrades users have done on their Ender 3s. However, the printer still has potential improvements if you’re willing to play around with it. Although we haven’t done any of these upgrades in this review, we assessed which types of upgrades were most likely to work with the printer.

The Ender 3 V2 is still a standard Creality printer at heart, so it’s likely that many of the typical upgrades will work and be fairly easy to install. The electronics of the V2 work at 24V like the original Ender3. So if you buy a new hot end or heated bed, make sure to get a 24V model.

Creality’s newer machines have a different fan assembly. This plastic fan has a much more natural look and is made of plastic. The best thing about the design is how easy it is to take out one screw. That makes it a lot easier to switch nozzles. Although new parts such as this are concerning from the standpoint of replacing them, we have no reason to think that it will fail.

The extruder upgrades are a promising upgrade that would bring about some significant improvements. The extrusion strength of the printer would be improved by a simple metal extruder. This will likely increase reliability when printing with lower quality filament. Installing a high-end dual-gear extruder and fully supported filament route would be possible. This would allow for easier filament loading and improve reliability with flexible materials. You will have to adjust the E’steps of your extruder motor, either in slicer or printer firmware. This printer offers the option of an upgrade. However, we do not believe it would be worthwhile.

Ender 3 V2: Is it reliable?

This workhorse is exceptional for its price. It has outstanding quality and reliability. The Ender 3 V2 is especially recommended for beginners who do not want to invest directly in a model of the next price range such as the CR-6 SE (which has many more practical features! ).

Is The Ender 3 V2 Worth The Extra Money?

The Ender 3 V2 3D printing machine is simply superior and worth every penny. You should expect some problems similar to the Ender 3 V2 and you need to be prepared for some updates. In conclusion, we prefer the Ender 3 V2 over the Ender 3 because it’s clearly better.

Does The Ender V2 make it worth the effort?

While they have many commonalities, both are similar in some ways to their predecessor. But the Ender 3 V2 Amazon (BangGood), gives it an additional boost makes it worth the effort to upgrade. It is certainly more friendly for beginner users.

What is The Ender3 V2 good for beginners?

For beginners like us, the Creality Ender 3 V2 3D printer is the most affordable in 2021. They are budget conscious and don’t mind assembling a printer. However, they value the open-source 3D printing options such as the Creality Ender 3 series.
