What Is Chest Physiotherapy
Procedure
Chest physiotherapy may be administered by a respiratory therapist, although the techniques can often be taught to family members of patients.
Most commonly used procedures are Postural drainage or chest percussion. In chest percussion, the patient rotates to allow drainage from specific segments of the lungs. Then they are clapped using cupped hands and rubbed with their palms to mobilize and loosen any remaining secretions. The procedure is somewhat uncomfortable and tiring for the patient. Other options than chest percussion with your hands include mechanical vibrators and inflatable vests.
You can also clear the airways by using controlled breathing and positive expiratory pressure to keep your airway healthy. Ultra-low-frequency oscillations devices are used to move sputum. Although the methods used to clear airways can be made comparable, each individual should select the method that best suits them.

What Is The Purpose Of A Chest Physiotherapy?
What is chest physiotherapy? Chest physiotherapy (or chest physiotherapy) is used to expel fluids or mucus from the lungs. It is done by clapping on the chest and by positioning your child to help move mucus to the larger airways where it can be coughed and/or suctioned out.
How Is Chest Physiotherapy Performed?
It is performed as the patient breathes deeply. Manual vibrations are performed by placing the hand of the performer against the patient. This creates vibrations as the patient exhales.
Chest physiotherapy for Who?
[2] The important adjunct treatment for most chronic illnesses ( COPD and bronchiectasis), neuromuscular disorders (muscular dystrophy), cystic fibrosis (Spinal cord Injury), COPD, bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis, and COPD is chest physiotherapy.
