Best Roccat Keyboards

Roccat Vulcan

This is the best overall gaming keyboard

The Roccat Vulcan, although more expensive, doesn’t offer as many features and isn’t as popular as the Fnatic Steak. However, the Vulcan is a delight to use for both typing and gaming.

A large part of that is down to the Vulcan’s fantastic Titan switches, which Roccat have developed in-house together with switch maker extraordinaire TTC. These tactile switches are similar to Cherry’s MX Browns but have a shorter actuation point, which is the part where the keyboard registers the key as being pressed. They also feel faster than Cherry MX Reds and feel as smooth as Cherry MX Reds. Roccat just released a brand new model, with Titan Speed switch (the Vulcan 121 black), which performs 30% faster than their previous tactile versions.

Because of its strong aluminium chassis it is beautifully constructed. There are many models available with different features and options. Vulcan 120 is the top of the line and comes with the removable wrist rest, additional media keys, volume knob and extra media buttons. Vulcan 100 however has the exact same features but no wrist rest. Vulcan 80 begins with the basic keyboard and a blue LED light backlight. A white Vulcan 120, called Vulcan 122, and the previously mentioned black Vulcan 112 are also available. All of them are quite pricey compared to others on this list. But, Titan switches are great if you want something different than standard Cherry MX keyboards.

Roccat Horde Aimo

The most powerful hybrid gaming keyboard

This was the previous spot filled by the Asus Gaming K5. However, this is no longer available from reputable retailers sites so we can safely say that Asus took it ’round with a bolt gun. The Roccat Horde Aimo will be a suitable replacement. Like the K5, it combines both the cost-effectiveness and quietness that membrane keyboards offer with the precision and speed of mechanical switches.

The Horde Aimo has another rare quality too: its multifunctional Dial. Many keyboards are equipped with a volume wheel. However, the Roccat Dial scrolls through websites and documents. The Dial also acts as an undo/redo input. The Dial keyboard is capable of gaming, but it also has unusual flexibility to be used for daily browsing or working.

Roccat Pyro

Cheapest mechanical gaming keyboard

It might be necessary to act quickly to secure the Roccat Pyro for its sub-PS70 price, since most retailers list it at standard PS90 prices. However, even the last is a good price for a full-mechanical keyboard as ergonomic and configurable as the Pyro.

Roccat has done a good job concealing the cost-effectiveness of this keyboard, with the exception of some unpadded edges (but still removable), and a sloppy wrist rest. You get non-clicky, linear TTC switches, which feel almost as natural as MX reds. There are media controls embedded into Fn keys and a Vulcan style volume dial in the top left corner. Unlike a lot of cheap mechanical keyboards, the Pyro also has fully customisable RGB lighting.

If you’re looking for a quality mechanical board, then the Pyro comes in at PS90. You won’t find it much cheaper on Amazon as of this writing. It is a bargain.

Comparative Comparison To Other Keyboards

The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO keyboard is the first to feature the newest ROCCAT Titan switch technology. These switches are similar to MX Browns. This keyboard also has a unique style with low profile keycaps and a transparent switch casing, which makes the RGB lighting shine throughout the board. While you can use the keyboard without a wrist rest it will not be as good as the one with. However, typing is much easier when it has one. The keyboards have similar features and are built similarly. However, the Pro’s linear switches are easier to use. The AIMO however has tactile switches which provide better feedback.

The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO and the ROCCAT Pyro are very similar full-size gaming keyboards, but the Pyro has slightly lower latency. Otherwise, both boards have an Easy-Shift[+] function, which lets you set a second layer of macros to certain keys for as long as you hold it. Both boards include a removable wrist rest with plastic and one setting for incline.

While the ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO is visually very similar to their counterparts, performance-wise they differ only in a couple of key areas. Vulcan 120 AIMO – A full-size keyboard, with wrist rest included and lower latency. Vulcan TKL meanwhile, is a Ten. Key. Less keyboard with a detachable USB-C cable. These keyboards can have volume buttons, mute and volume controls and come with either ROCCAT Titan tactile and linear switches.

The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO works better than Corsair K60 RGBPRO Lower Profile. The ROCCAT has significantly better typing quality, as its proprietary switches provide tactile feedback, and their higher pre-travel distance result in fewer typos. The Corsair supports macro programming for all keys, as well as i. Windows, mac. OS.

Corsair K83 Wireless Entertainment Keyboard

Both the ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO and Corsair keyboards are excellent for different purposes. Corsair is an wireless scissorswitch keyboard designed for sitting comfortably on your sofa. Meanwhile, the ROCCAT is a wired gaming keyboard with mechanical switches meant to stay on a desk within a gaming setup. Both keyboards feel great and offer excellent backlighting. However, the ROCCAT’s mechanical switches make typing a bit more enjoyable. On the other hand, the Corsair has better compatibility with a wide range of operating systems.

G Hub is the new interface for Logitech gear. G Hub provides a new interface to Logitech gear. It offers an easier interface for creating game profiles, customizing lighting zones and assigning additional functions. G Shift commands can activate it.

All Razer keyboards now use Synapse to personalize. Up until G Hub was released, Synapse had one of the cleanest interfaces of all the keyboard utilities we’ve tested. Easy to learn, Synapse employ menus with options to modify lighting, create profiles, record and assign macro functions, and integrate your Razer hardware with Philips Hue lights for the ultimate coordinated RGB (or “Chroma,” as Razer calls it) experience.

Other software is available to use gaming keyboards such as Roccat’s Swarm, Steel. Cougar’s UIX, Series’ Engine. They may have different looks, but the function and purpose of the programs are the same. Software goes hand-in-hand with gaming keyboards, and one of the key selling points for these peripherals is that you can tweak the way they look and perform to suit your preferred games, genres, and play style. Why You Should Avoid These Things

Roccat advertises the Vulcan 120 Aimo as a “precision gaming tool” and, after getting our hands on the board and producing our official Roccat Vulcan 120 Aimo review, it’s hard to argue with that.

Vulcan 120 Aimo provides a very user-friendly interface. Titan switches on the Vulcan 120 Aimo are some of our favourites. They combine superbly with linear actuation and fast input recognition.

When searching for the top gaming keyboards, quiet switches aren’t something that we value as much. However, considering how responsive the bespoke keys in Roccat’s Vulcan 120 Aimo are, we are starting to feel we’d love to see them more.

With its anodised aluminum plate the keyboard feels extremely solid under your fingertips. It weighs in at 1,150g and has a remarkably bright Aimo light engine.

The Roccat Vulcan 120 Aimo features a 32-bit ARM Cortex processor as well as a detachable, wrist rest, and a long, braided 1.8-metre cable. This package is a must-have if you want to buy the highest-end gaming keyboards in 2021.

The 120 Aimo was praised by many of the T3 Awards 2020 judges, who awarded it the Best Gaming Keyboard Award.

The Roccat Vulcan 122 Aimo Gaming Keyboard is a top-rated option for any white laptop. Even when RGBs are turned off, this full-sized keyboard will steal the spotlight.

With the Vulcan 122 Aimo, Roccat looked to forge a reliable gaming partner by using homegrown switches with shorter travel than traditional Cherry MX ones. At the time of writing this, though, this mechanical keyboard is very costly.

Are Roccat Keyboards Excellent?

Typing quality on the ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO is excellent. Because of the low-profile keyboard and keycaps, it may feel strange at first. It feels solid, and it’s easy to use. The spacebar however is somewhat high and unstable. It is much easier to type when the wrist rest is used.
