What is the Walmart Point System?

Walmart’s attendance policy includes the Walmart point system. It aims to discourage associates from being tardy or unintentionally absent.

In 2019, it was changed with an increase in the amount of points employees could get from nine to five. Associate who receives more than five points will be fired.

Associates that do not show up to their shifts as scheduled will receive one point.

Additionaly, those who work late might be eligible for half the point. However, unexpected absences may lead to a maximum of 3 points.

How To Report An Absence/Lateness At Walmart?

To report an absentee or lateness, associates need to access the OneWalmart website. They can then register for absence through the appropriate portal.

Alternativly they may call 1-800-775-5944, or the nearest Walmart to inform the manager that you’re running behind.

Walmart: How long do points last?

Walmart points do not accumulate continuously during associate time.

To make the system fair and to allow for any unexpected emergencies or obligations, each associate’s points are reset after six months.

The points system doesn’t count authorized absences. Walmart employees will not lose their jobs if the company has five or more missed shifts within a six-month span.

  • Walmart Allows How Many Absences

Associates will only receive three points if they are absent unexpectedly during Holiday shifts. This is according to Walmart’s point system.

For absences during standard trading periods, they will receive one point. An absence is defined by Walmart as working less than half of a scheduled shift.

A coworker may have up to five hours of leave before facing being fired, depending upon the reason.

They could also be absent on one holiday shift or two standard shifts. You can also terminate them if you are unintentionally absent for two holiday shifts.

    Walmart Rewards Good Attendance

Walmart has updated its attendance policy and now rewards associates with perfect attendance. It also encourages consistency in attendance.

As of 2019, both full-time and part-time Walmart employees are eligible for increased cash bonuses every quarter.

Employees with perfect attendance records are eligible for an extra 25% bonus in their quarterly bonuses. Individuals with just one point may still be eligible to receive an increase bonus.

Walmart quarterly bonuses are distributed based on a number of factors, the main one being store performance. Nearly $800 million was earned in hourly bonuses during 2019, which is the same year as attendance bonuses.

Walmart: How do I get into the store?

Walmart employees must clock in using the GTA Time Clock app regardless of how late you arrive at work.

All users of the GTA Time Clock app have to do is go to the Time Clock home screen and sign in with OneWalmart. They will be asked to enter a unique user ID and password to verify their identity.

They can then click on “Clock In,” to start their shift. Or, if they are already clocked in, they can select the “Meal Start,” “Meal End,” and “Clock Out” options as appropriate.
