A lot of grocery and retail shops offer many perks to their employees such as employee discounts, holiday pay, healthcare benefits and gym memberships.
Safeway employees get a discount of 10% on brand-name products and a 5% discount for other brands. This offer is valid until 2022. Safeway employees cannot be granted an employee discount if they have finished their probation. They must also possess an AirMiles credit card which can be swiped at cash counters.
What does a Safeway employee need in order to redeem their discount?
Two things are required for employees of Safeway to be eligible in order to receive their discount.
To qualify for the discount, staff members must have completed their probation period. Safeway staff members have three months probation.
Safeway staff must acquire an Air Miles card after the probation period.
You can use this card as a coupon card and then swipe it at the cash register if you wish to make use of your discount.
Safeway staff without an Air Miles cards cannot receive their employees discount.
In order to use their Air Miles card, Safeway employees must register their card number into Employee Self Service (ESS) on the Albertsons/Sobeys employee portal.
Safeway employees have the option to split their discount
Safeway employees have the right to share their discount with anyone in their immediate family.
Employees and family members can both redeem the discount, provided that their Air Miles cards are registered on the Sobeys portal.
Can Safeway Employees Use Their Discount in Every Department?
Safeway employees may use the discounts they receive on any in-store item and across all department items.
Some products may not be eligible for discounts. These products are listed below.
Additionally, certain non-discount items will vary per store, such as third-party seller items.
Employees at Safeway as well as potential employees are advised to consult their store manager on which products can be considered minimum price regulatory items, in-store exceptions, third-party selling items and other items.
Where Can Safeway Staff Use Their Discount?
Albertsons/Sobeys owns Safeway, so employees can use the discount they receive at selected Albertsons Companies stores.
