Costco has been a valuable hub for shopping, and members can select from several membership levels that are most suitable to their needs.
But what about the perks that come with their highest-level Executive Membership–do customers benefit from different hours to shop? Here’s what I discovered about Executive Memberships.
Costco does not have exclusive times for their Executive Members to shop before the public as of 2022. This was once a benefit for those who were enrolled in the Executive tier. However, it seems that this practice has been slowly discontinued from most stores since 2015.
Do Executive Members Get In Early At Costco?
Executive Members used to be able to access the store one hour earlier than Gold Star Members, giving them more time to shop with far fewer customers in the store.
Sadly, this is no longer the case as all Costco members, regardless of membership tier, are allowed into the store at opening time–10:00 a.m. on weekdays and Sundays, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
Some warehouses open at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. This is especially true if they are the day before major holidays.
This is not the case in all locations. However, doors may still be shut until their posted opening times.
What is Costco’s Executive Membership?
Costco offers the Executive Membership, which is the top tier among all membership options.
Upgrades to this level are available for $60 more than the annual fee. Executive memberships cost $120.
How do Costco Executive Members Benefit?
Customers who upgrade from the Standard Membership to the Executive membership get certain perks which other members do not.
The extra shopping time may not be available any longer, but these members still get the following:
Extra Savings on Services – Executive members receive special discounts on auto servicing, real estate, mortgage and roadside assistance and other business services.
Exclusive offers and Extra Discounts.
The 2% Cashback–This is applicable to all purchases except alcohol and tobacco. To make this perk cover the $60 extra that you paid for this tier, you will need to spend at least $3,000 per year, which is quite normal for a family’s groceries and home supplies.

Costco was once able to give Executive members access to the stores an hour before other members.
Does Costco Have Business Member Hours?
Costco Business Center locations open earlier than a Costco warehouse. They are open Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Does A Costco Executive Membership Expire?
Your membership will remain active up to the expiration of your current month. Visit any Costco location to see our helpful member counter. Log in or Register by clicking Sign In to access your Costco.com account.
