How Does The Instant Vortex 6-Quart Air Fryer Compare To Other Air Fryers?
In my tests to find the best air fryer, the Instant Vortex performed similarly to the best overall winner, the Ninja Air Fryer Max XL, but it’s slightly less versatile since it has fewer functions. Like the Ninja, it produced crispy yet tender chicken and golden brown french fries. In fact, it even holds slightly more food than the Ninja. All four pre-set options, which include bake, roast and reheat, performed flawlessly. The Ninja is slightly heavier and wider than this Ninja. This means that it is more difficult to transport and takes up less space. It narrowly missed being ranked as best, but I found that the added versatility of the Ninja’s seven functions, the sleeker design, and the larger temperature range makes it superior. These basket-style fryers are better at air-frying than the Breville Joule Oven Pro, which didn’t produce as crisp results.
What makes instant air fryers so popular?

They are easy to use and look great, with their high-tech, but not overwhelming, designs. And they can make delicious french fries. They pre-heat which I find a great feature. Also, they remind you to always turn the food half way through cooking times.

How Easy Is The Instant Vortex Plus Dual Basket Air Fryer To Use
This model is intuitive enough to use without the instruction manual but we did discover from the instructions that you can select your cooking scale in Centigrade or Fahrenheit.
Each mode has its own instructions that provide temperature and time guides. It was easy to use the touchscreen controls because they were a combination of words and icons. The functions of the touchscreen controls are clearly labeled. Each drawer is selectable using a 1 or 2 button, then offers an interior light to illuminate what’s inside. The time and temperature are adjustable and the cooking time counts down on the digital display. A cooking progress bar from preheating to cooking is also a great addition.

Gadgets like this demand some countertop space, some investment in the initial outlay of cost and in learning its nuances of use, but this model repays in the quality of components and cooking results. The brand should have taken responsibility for its packaging and heeded consumer advice.
How I Tested The Best Air Fryers
The Instant Vortex was tested for portability, versatility and overall performance. To judge portability, I first assessed the size and weight of the air fryer and the length of the cord (a longer cord will give you more options for where to put a countertop appliance). The machine was easy to assemble and the controls were simple to use.
I cooked three commonly air-fried foods in the Instant Vortex: fries, wings and cookies.
The best air fryer should be able to cook crisp, evenly-fried foods, as well as bake, roast, and more. To test versatility and overall performance, I cooked three commonly air-fried foods: chicken wings, french fries, and chocolate chip cookies. To maintain consistency, I cooked each food at the same temperature for the same amount of time in each machine. I then observed how evenly each food was cooked and how golden, burnt, or underdone the color looked. I also took note of how easy it was to remove the basket and shake foods. Each machine was cleaned by me after each test. I also noted the ease of each air fryer to maintain.

Six strips of bacon, four generously sized chicken cutlets, and a large filet of fish all lie nice and flat without overlapping. And when it comes to baking, square pans are a cinch to drop in.
App compatibility. Instead of the typical physical and digital cookbooks that come with some other air fryer models, the Instant Vortex’s app lets home cooks select their main ingredient, the device they’d like to use, and–voila!–you have recipe suggestions in the palm of your hand.
Big Enough To Feed Busy Families
With a large cooking basket and easy-to-understand controls, this is the perfect air fryer for busy families looking to streamline weeknight meals. The basket can fit up to two pounds of fries or even a 4-pound whole chicken. The added space allows food to be separated and ensures consistent airflow throughout the fryer. Though the Instant Vortex takes up slightly more space on the countertop than some of the other models I tested, (it measures almost 15 inches long, 12.36 inches wide,12.8 inches high and weighs about 12 pounds) it’s a convenient gadget for anyone looking for a dedicated, functional air fryer.
Though the Instant Vortex has fewer functions than some of the other products I tested, I found that the simplified functionality can actually be a positive for many novice home cooks. While many products offer a lot more features, this one does the job just as well. You can cook all the necessary tasks at home with this product.
